Newly crowned Mr Ideal Nigeria 2026, Victor Eko, has officially departed for Manila, Philippines, to represent Nigeria at the 8th edition of the Man of the World pageant.
The multi-talented visual artist and fitness trainer, widely known by his brand handle @echoarts.ng, touched down at Lagos airport brimming with national pride ahead of the global showdown.
The international competition runs from May 28 to June 6, 2026, with the grand coronation night scheduled for June 6 at the prestigious Palacio de Maynila.
Delegates from around the world will first hit the runway to showcase their cultural heritage during the highly anticipated National Costume Competition on May 30.
Eko earned the right to fly Nigeria’s flag after a dominant performance at the 17th edition of the Mr Ideal Nigeria competition, held on May 2 at the Oriental Hotel in Lagos. Representing Edo State, he swept three major preliminary titles—Mr Strength, Best Body, and Talent Winner—on his way to claiming the national crown.
His victory, managed under the House of Twitch, came with an official car, multi-million naira endorsement deals, and an all-expenses-paid trip to Rwanda. The win also secured him an acting scholarship with the Royal Arts Academy and cinematic modelling opportunities with Eis World.
Eko’s modelling career is built on a unique fusion of creative artistry and elite physical conditioning. He began modelling at age 19, deliberately merging his background as a visual artist with runway work. Operating under the “EchoArts” synergy, he treats his body as a canvas, producing striking editorial portfolios that blend contemporary African art with modern masculinity.
His discipline as a fitness trainer anchors his high-fashion body modelling work. At the same time, his cultural runway showcases, which combine traditional Edo aesthetics with avant-garde tailoring, have made him a standout in the industry.
Already generating significant international buzz, Eko has been listed among early “Hot Picks” by global pageant analysts. His journey to the national title was not without drama; he overcame a brief eviction nomination during the competition, rallying his loyal fan base to survive and ultimately triumph.
“From the dreams, the preparation, the doubts, the growth, and every single person who believed in me before this stage ever became possible… I carry all of it with me on this journey,” Eko wrote in a farewell message shared from the Lagos airport. “I know this experience will change me in so many ways, and I’m just grateful for the opportunity to stand on a global stage and proudly say, ‘I am from Nigeria.’ Philippines, see you soon.”
