Angel Victoria Murdock built a 300,000-follower empire on lies. Duke Health officials have confirmed that the social media personality never applied to or attended the university’s Physician Assistant Program, exposing a nearly two-year hoax documented across her social media platforms.
Murdock, a former contestant on Netflix’s Temptation Island, had amassed more than 300,000 followers by posting content about high-end real estate and her supposed journey through Duke’s prestigious medical track. She shared videos of herself studying, wearing scrubs, carrying medical equipment and describing clinical rotations.
The hoax began to unravel in August 2026 when Murdock posted “graduation” photos taken on Duke’s campus. Actual graduates of the 2026 Duke PA class noticed the colour of her master’s graduation hood was incorrect.
Class members also pointed out that the cohort consisted of only 91 people who knew one another well, and no one had ever seen Murdock in class, on campus or at clinical rotations.
Reviewers of the publicly streamed two-hour hooding ceremony confirmed that her name was never called and she never walked across the stage.
Following the backlash and official confirmation from Duke Health, Murdock blocked critical commenters and deactivated or deleted her primary social media accounts.
The exposure has brought additional scrutiny to her online platform. Reports indicate she falsely claimed to be a licensed real estate agent in North Carolina and Georgia. She had also claimed to have completed a double major at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, when she actually dropped out of her undergraduate studies.
Murdock appeared as a “temptress” on six episodes of Temptation Island in 2025, parlaying her fabricated success into the reality television role.
Duke Health has not announced any legal action. No statement has been issued by Murdock or her representatives.
