Nigerian media personality and beauty entrepreneur Tacha says her new website for a Guinness World Records bid went down less than 24 hours after launch, overwhelmed by a surge of traffic.
In a short video update, she thanked supporters and revealed the early numbers: “Website CRASHED!!! Thank you GUYS!!!! The love has been soo immense!!!! 100,000 website VISITS!!! We’re coming back up SHORTLY www.tachagwr.com”.
The site anchors Tacha’s just-announced attempt at “Most Cosmetic Makeovers in 24 Hours by One Artist.” The record run will headline a three-day Beauty Festival slated for October 10–12, 2025, at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History in Onikan, Lagos.
Organizers are positioning the event as a showcase of Nigerian creativity and beauty commerce, with round-the-clock masterclasses, empowerment workshops, brand exhibitions, business clinics, and networking across makeup, hair, skincare, wellness, fashion, and related trades. Registration, volunteer, sponsorship, and exhibitor information are hosted on tachagwr.com.
For the 24-hour push, Tacha plans to deliver complete cosmetic looks—foundation, eye makeup, blush, and lips—in a single continuous session to as many participants as possible. To meet Guinness World Records standards, the attempt will be independently witnessed by beauty professionals and fully documented via video, photography, and a detailed service log.
As of publication, the site was experiencing intermittent downtime following the spike in visits; Tacha said the team is working on restoring access “shortly.”
