The 2026 AMVCA red carpet has seen sequins and silk, but a Nollywood veteran arriving as a sci‑fi queen? That belongs to Susan Peters – and the fearless imagination of La’Kimmy, the Lagos couture house that just rewrote Nigerian red‑carpet rules.
Shot by Nikan’s Konxepts Studios in a smoky haze, Susan materialised like an Afrofuturist warrior. Her black, floor‑length column gown features an extreme cinched waist and exaggerated padded hips – a 1950s silhouette launched into the 22nd century.

The showpiece is the massive, asymmetrical funnel collar that rises from her waist, wraps around her torso, and flares behind her shoulders like a spaceship wing – crafted in stiff, leather‑like charcoal satin. A wide structured belt with a crystal buckle emphasises the wasp waist; the sleek, liquid‑leather skirt hugs her hips.
Then came the shock: a mirrored chrome visor covering her eyes – cyborg, Matrix, unforgettable. Hair by Kemi Amusan was slicked back into a tight bun; makeup by Dumsy Glow Touch delivered bronzed, radiant skin.
It was conceived and sewn in Lagos. On Susan Peters, La’Kimmy launched a cyborg queen. The red carpet may never recover.
