Rising Nigerian singer Qing Madi has been selected as the cover star of Apple Music’s Alpha Women playlist, a prestigious curation celebrating Africa’s leading female artists who are history-makers and game-changers in their respective genres.
“I’m excited to have been selected as the cover star of Apple Music’s Alpha Women playlist,” the 19-year-old Afro-fusion sensation said.
Known for blending Afrobeats, pop, soul, and R&B, Qing Madi — pronounced “King Madi” — represents a “super female” embodying respect and femininity.
She first exploded onto the scene with her 2022 viral TikTok single “See Finish” and solidified her rise with the 2023 smash hit “Ole” featuring BNXN.
The singer also made history as the first Nigerian artist to become a video game character, partnering with Riot Games for the track “Ego.” With hundreds of millions of streams and a dedicated fanbase called the “Qings,” she continues to break barriers.
Her upcoming EP, “Barely Legal,” is set for release on May 29, 2026.
The Apple Music honour cements her place among Africa’s most influential young female voices.
