Jamaican dancehall sensation Shenseea turned heads at the 2026 MOBO Awards. Still, it was her high praise for Nigerian cuisine that stole the show and sparked a viral “foodie” moment across social media.

Arriving at Co-op Live in a shimmering silver fringe halter gown, the “Hit & Run” singer was quickly dubbed by fans as having one of the best looks of the night.

But during a red carpet interview with KISS XTRA, her focus shifted to African culture—specifically Nigerian staples.

“Fufu and Egusi soup,” Shenseea said when asked about her food preferences, naming Okra soup as a favourite. Her enthusiastic endorsement of West African cuisine quickly racked up thousands of views on TikTok and X, with fans praising her embrace of the “Jummy” (Jamaican-Nigerian) cultural bond.

Beyond the food talk, Shenseea delivered a high-energy medley of her recent hits on stage and was a top contender in the Best Caribbean Music Act category at the 30th anniversary celebration.

Her viral moment further cemented the growing cultural exchange between Caribbean and African music communities on one of the UK’s biggest musical stages.
