Serena Williams commanded the 2026 Met Gala red carpet on Monday, May 4, in a custom silver lamé Marc Jacobs gown that turned her into a living statue.

The draped, one‑shoulder silhouette featured gold leaf accents, structured hip pads, a dramatic thigh‑high slit, and a train of crushed silver — a contemporary take on Grecian design that perfectly honoured the “Fashion Is Art” dress code.

She paired the look with gold gladiator‑style heels featuring handmade gold leaf appliqué, David Yurman jewellery, and an Audemars Piguet timepiece. Her platinum blonde waves and soft glam makeup added a touch of old‑Hollywood elegance.

Williams’ sister, Venus, served as a co‑chair of the gala alongside Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, and Anna Wintour.

In the days leading up, Serena turned heads at Anna Wintour’s dinner in a red sequined LaQuan Smith gown and at a Jeff Bezos‑hosted party in a sculptural grey Magda Butrym minidress.

The evening’s Met exhibition, “Costume Art,” explores fashion as an extension of the human form — and Serena embodied the theme spectacularly.
