A new voice has emerged in the media landscape with the launch of Visualist Magazine, a publication dedicated to erasing the boundaries between art, fashion, and film.

Founded by Sarah Talabi, a veteran of fashion and film production, the platform aims to spotlight the multidimensional creators who are shaping contemporary culture.

The magazine was born from Talabi’s own experience of being pigeonholed. After years of working as a model, she faced significant challenges when expanding into film production and hosting, often dismissed as being ‘just a model.’

“That struggle ultimately strengthened my purpose,” Talabi revealed in an interview. This personal journey directly informs Visualist’s core mission: to celebrate professionals who successfully navigate and integrate multiple creative disciplines.

A Platform for the Multidisciplinary Creator

Unlike traditional industry-specific publications, Visualist Magazine’s unique appeal lies in its cross-pollinated coverage. It features in-depth interviews with a diverse range of voices—from visual artists and gallery owners to film producers, actors, and fashion designers. Talabi is particularly drawn to “people who have found success in more than one creative space,” seeing their career fluidity as a sign of bravery and authentic creative expression.

Cultivating Authenticity in a Trend-Driven World

To ensure cultural relevance, Talabi emphasises genuine connection over chasing trends. “I’m constantly listening—whether that’s through conversations with artists, designers, filmmakers, or audiences,” she stated, believing that “authenticity never goes out of style.” Her hands-on background provides an insider’s lens, cultivating a publication that offers depth and a true understanding of creative processes.

Looking ahead, Talabi hopes Visualist Magazine will empower creatives to embrace limitless possibilities. “I want Visualist to be known as a space where creativity is limitless,” she said, aspiring to inspire others to pursue their passions without being confined by a single label or industry.
