In an exclusive interview with the People Magazine, the beloved Real Housewives of Atlanta star has spoken candidly for the first time since finalizing her explosive divorce from Nigerian businessman Simon Guobadia, a separation she bluntly calls nothing short of a “nightmare.”

Their whirlwind romance, a scandalous Instagram debut, a lightning-fast engagement, and two lavish weddings in November 2022 (one honoring Simon’s Nigerian roots, another a glittering American affair in Atlanta) captivated reality TV and social media alike. But behind the glossy photos lurked secrets too dark for any filter to hide.

“It’s stages,” Williams, 44, revealed in an emotional sit-down. “First, anger. Then you fight for your life in court. And finally, clarity: your family’s safe, your child’s protected — you realize you’re still blessed.”

Guobadia, 61, had presented himself as Porsha’s safe harbor; older, worldly, settled. He promised her stability after she’d endured heartbreaks, blindsides, and betrayals in past relationships. But it all crumbled when Porsha uncovered “complex” immigration issues, a criminal history stretching back to the 80s, and a secret deportation order.

Despite her pleas for him to stay in the U.S. and sort his legal mess, Guobadia defied her — and was eventually detained by ICE and deported back to Nigeria. She learned of his arrest like the rest of us: breaking headlines.

On Valentine’s Day, a final argument sealed their fate. “It was just a look. Dark. Cold. I knew he was gone from this marriage,” she said. Eight days later, Porsha did what she never expected: she filed first.

“I filed before I was ready — out of necessity to protect myself. He never saw that coming,” she admits.

Through it all, Porsha shielded her daughter Pilar Jhena (PJ) from the chaos, leaned on her ex-fiancé Dennis McKinley for co-parenting support, and walled off the ugliest truths from Housewives cameras.

She credits her mother and sister for keeping her grounded and credits herself for staying smart this time: she had a prenup, her own businesses, her own money. “Last time I gave up everything for love. Not this time. I was a businesswoman. I did my due diligence. It softened the blow,” she said.

While Guobadia still threatens appeals, Porsha has moved on, slowly. She’s building her YouTube channel Porsha4Real, running her hairline and bedding brands, and focusing on healing. Love can wait.

“It’s lonely, sure. Do I trust anyone? Not yet,” she laughed through tears. “At some point, maybe I’ll fall in love again. For now, I’m just loving me.”

With the final court gavel echoing a new freedom, Porsha stands unbothered — not broken. In her own words, “I’m proud of myself. I walked through fire and came out softer, not bitter. I’m finally able to exhale.”
