Poco Lee’s management team has finally addressed the swirling rumours surrounding their client. The Nigerian dancer and entertainer is currently facing legal proceedings in the United Kingdom, and his team is urging the public to pump the brakes on speculation.
In an official statement issued Tuesday, August 25, 2026, the management specifically denied reports linking the case to alleged “drink spiking.” They made it clear that the claim does not form part of the allegations or charges before the UK court.
“We are aware of the ongoing public discussion surrounding allegations made against our client, Poco Lee, currently before the courts in the United Kingdom,” the statement read. “Allegations are not evidence of guilt, and no conclusions should be drawn until the matter has been heard and determined through the appropriate legal process.”
The team expressed concern over the volume of unverified narratives currently circulating. They called on the public and media to refrain from introducing details that are not part of the actual case, warning that doing so “only fuels misinformation and causes unfair prejudice.”
The hearing is listed as a plea and trial preparation hearing at Snaresbrook Crown Court. According to reports, a bail application was heard on August 21, and Poco Lee is scheduled to appear in court on September 15.
His detention was confirmed on Monday by Benjamin Kuti, popularly known as the Oluomo of Derby and founder of the Community of Nigerians in the United Kingdom. Kuti said he planned to attend the proceedings in support of Poco Lee.
The statement, signed by Adedoyin Faleye on behalf of Poco Lee’s management, concluded: “Every individual is entitled to a fair hearing and to have their matter determined by due process of law, not by public opinion.”
