LAGOS — The fifth edition of Open Day for Gardeners has been scheduled for Friday, 28 August to Sunday, 30 August 2026, at the Ecobank Pan African Centre on Ozumba Mbadiwe, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The three-day event will run from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily. Organisers say visitors will have access to plant shopping, garden tools exhibitions, handcrafted pottery moulding and expert gardening seminars.
“Join us for the seminars and get an opportunity to listen to plant experts. Bring all your curiosity along. We will see you there,” the organisation wrote in its announcement.

The event arrives amid a national push toward home gardening as food prices remain elevated. The #EveryHomeAGarden initiative, championed by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, has encouraged households to grow food in small spaces to reduce feeding costs.
Organisers say the Open Day provides access to tools, hybrid seeds and technical guidance for such efforts.

Lagos has also expanded its green agenda, including the Lagos Tree Planting Day and climate advocacy led by figures such as former Vice President Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
The event is positioned as a platform for local nurseries, pottery artisans and tool manufacturers to reach urban consumers.
