A year after its release, Asake’s “Lungu Boy” remains a defining cultural moment, a sonic earthquake that continues to ripple across continents.

The album, which solidified the YBNL star’s reputation as the bridge between Yoruba street soul and global Afrobeats finesse, has now garnered over 390 million Spotify streams across its 15 tracks, an astonishing feat that underscores Asake’s enduring global influence.

According to Spotify data, “MMS” leads with 73.6 million streams, followed by “Active” (69.1m), “Wave” (64.7m), and “Worldwide” (25.3m). Other standout tracks like “Fuji Vibe” (22.7m), “Mentally” (20.9m), and “Uhh Yeahh” (18.6m) showcase his seamless fusion of Fuji roots with amapiano bounce and street gospel cadences. This genre-bending blend became Asake’s signature.
