Nigerian star Omah Lay has stormed straight to Number 1 on the Official UK Afrobeats Chart with his new single “I AM,” debuting at the summit for the week of April 11–17, 2026.

The track knocks last week’s leader, “Worship” by Asake and DJ Snake, down to No.4, giving Omah Lay his latest chart-topper in his first week of release. The celebration doesn’t stop there—he also lands a second brand-new entry inside the Top 5 with “Artificial Happiness” at No.5.

Wizkid and Asake’s “Jogodo” holds firm at No.2 in its 12th week on the chart, while Dopenation remains steady at No.3 with “Kakalika.”

Elsewhere in the Top 20, Tems re-enters at No.9 with “What You Need (A COLORS SHOW),” a track that previously peaked at No.2. The Grammy-winning singer also scores a second entry with “First” at No.17. Black Sherif’s “Popstar” tumbles nine places to No.17, while Ayra Starr’s “Where Do We Go” falls to No.11.

Mavo climbs to a new peak of No.6 with “Aura Salad.” New entries also come from Kidd Carder and Mavo at No.7 with “Big Bum Bum,” and Jay Silva at No.14 with “Lonely.” Re‑entries include “Zep” by Smallz, Zinedine, and Sguche at No.20.

With two songs in the Top 5 in the same week, Omah Lay leads the most competitive Afrobeats chart of the year so far, signalling his growing dominance in the UK market.
