Nigerian-born basketball prodigy and viral TikTok sensation Blessing Adebanjo has taken her talents to the University of Arizona, officially joining the Wildcats’ Women’s Basketball program.

The 6’3” forward, originally from Lagos, is a game-changer for a team that reached the Final Four and the National Championship Game in 2021.
Adebanjo arrives in Arizona after shining at Yamanashi Gakuin University in Japan, where she averaged an impressive 15.1 points and 9.7 rebounds in her first collegiate season.
Her leap from Asia to the U.S. signals a bold new chapter. “I chose Arizona because the coaches and staff recognized my potential, supported my journey from Japan to the U.S., and offered a program that could transform my basketball career and life,” she said.
On TikTok, her infectious energy and Afrobeats-driven dance routines have won her a global following, positioning her as both athlete and cultural ambassador. With millions tuning in, she showcases the rhythm and vibrancy of Nigerian identity alongside her athletic dominance.
Adebanjo embodies the future where sports, culture, and digital influence collide, proving that hard work and charisma can build a legacy on and off the court.
