Nollywood star Osas Ighodaro has officially crossed into Bollywood, landing the lead role in Imported Bahu — a groundbreaking vertical micro-drama series set to premiere July 2, 2026.
Unveiled on June 22 by Forever 7 Entertainment, the production company owned by Nigerian-Indian filmmaker Hamisha Daryani Ahuja, the series is optimised for smartphone portrait viewing, marking a first-of-its-kind format in cross-cultural storytelling between both industries.
The title alone tells you everything you need to know: Bahu means daughter-in-law in Hindi, and “Imported” means exactly what you think — a foreign bride entering an Indian family with secrets, style, and serious leverage.
Ighodaro stars as Zara Ogun, a fashion CEO who enters an Indian family as their new “imported” daughter-in-law, while secretly holding significant business leverage over them. She appears opposite Bollywood actor and model Rajniesh Duggall.
The project expands Ahuja’s track record of fusing Nollywood and Bollywood, following her popular film Namaste Wahala.
Fans have responded with excitement online, labelling the project the “Zara Ogun era” and anticipating what promises to be a dramatic fusion of love, family secrets, and corporate power plays.
The series will be available on digital platforms from July 2.
