Colette Otusheso, Chief Executive Officer of The Accelerate Media Group, has been named to the Grand Jury of the 2026 Gerety Awards, the international creative competition distinguished by its all-female jury panel.
The appointment places the seasoned Nigerian media executive among a select group of industry leaders tasked with evaluating the world’s most outstanding advertising and creative work.
Otusheso announced her appointment in a statement expressing enthusiasm for the role and its alignment with her career-long commitment to meaningful storytelling. She noted that the awards’ dedication to diverse perspectives, with jurors drawn from across the globe, brings essential cultural intelligence to the judging process.
With over 23 years of experience spanning senior leadership roles at MultiChoice and Viacom, Otusheso has shaped major campaigns for global brands including MTV, BET, and Nickelodeon, and contributed to the award-winning series MTV Shuga.
As CEO of The Accelerate Media Group, she has championed African narratives through critically acclaimed productions such as Visa on Arrival, The Olive, Streets of Lagos, and The Decolonisation of Africa.
A board member of the Lagos Advertising and Ideas Festival, Otusheso has been recognised among the Top 50 Leading Women in Corporate Nigeria and the Top 15 Most Influential Women in Nigerian Media.
The Gerety Awards, named after Frances Gerety—the copywriter who coined the iconic slogan “A diamond is forever”—features an entirely female jury to redefine advertising standards and champion diversity across the creative industries.
Entries for the 2026 cycle are now open.
