The Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in Vietnam has expressed delight at the participation of Tamunosoye Karibi-George in the ongoing 73rd Miss World Festival, calling her a proud symbol of Nigeria’s cultural heritage and youth talent.
In a statement released from Hanoi, the Embassy said Karibi-George, popularly known as Soye, is carrying the Nigerian flag with pride on the world stage.
“Her participation showcases Nigeria’s cultural heritage and the talent of its young people on the world stage. As she carries the Nigerian flag with pride, the Embassy wishes Tamunosoye every success throughout the Festival and in the competitions ahead,” the statement read.
The Embassy encouraged Nigerians living in Vietnam and friends of Nigeria to join in cheering her on and showing support.
Soye has already secured an automatic spot in the Top 40 quarterfinals after winning the historic title of Africa’s Top Model. Her campaign has drawn high-level backing from a Nigerian delegation on the ground, including Professor Steve Azaiki, Dawari George and Silverbird’s Guy Murray-Bruce.
The Miss World grand finale is scheduled for Saturday, 5 September 2026, in Vietnam. Soye enters the final phase as one of Africa’s strongest contenders, with audience support and voting expected to play a key role in determining the outcome.
