Buea is buzzing with star power as prominent Nollywood actors have arrived for the 2026 Cameroon International Film Festival, CAMIFF, underscoring Nigeria’s growing role in elevating the continent’s cinema landscape.
Leading the Nigerian contingent is Ruth Kadiri, who is not just attending as a guest star but is headlining the festival’s filmmaking masterclasses.
On April 25, she joined other guests on a courtesy visit to the Governor of the Southwest Region, cementing the festival’s diplomatic weight.
Alexx Ekubo and Enyinna Nwigwe are also in the Mountain Hotel venue, exchanging ideas with local content creators in a clear show of cross-border mentorship. Actress Prisma James turned heads on the opening night red carpet, adding glamour to the cultural showcase.
Running from April 24 to April 28, the festival, organised by CEO Agbor Gilbert, features an opening ceremony, cultural displays, and an awards night.
Nigeria’s heavy presence signals Nollywood’s commitment to carrying sister industries along, fostering deep collaborations that position African storytelling for global export.
