A new queen has risen and is deeply rooted in purpose. Divine Ekemini Nelson, a 22-year-old pilot-in-training and computer science graduate from Akwa Ibom State, has been crowned Miss Earth Nigeria 2025, taking home the coveted green crown at a dazzling ceremony held on July 20, 2025, at the Palacio Event Centre in Port Harcourt.

The event, organised by Queen Bae Studios in partnership with Miss Earth Nigeria, under the leadership of Ibinabo Fiberesima, brought glamour, intellect, and environmental advocacy together in one unforgettable evening. Nollywood icons Hilda Dokubo and Walter Anga joined the crowd to witness the crowning moment of a young woman whose vision goes far beyond beauty.
Nelson, a native of Ikot-Mbong, Etinan Local Government Area, champions an environmental initiative called “Rooted Earth”, a project designed to promote eco-education and sustainable agriculture. Her dream, she says, is to inspire young Nigerians to reconnect with the soil, “to grow green ideas as fiercely as we chase gold.”

Before her latest triumph, Nelson had already made waves as the 3rd Runner-up at the Miss Nigeria 2024 pageant. But this win marks a new chapter, one that will see her carry the Nigerian flag to the Miss Earth World Pageant in the Philippines, where she’ll compete with queens from across the globe for one of the planet’s most prestigious environmental crowns.
Speaking after her win, Fiberesima described Divine as “the embodiment of beauty, intellect, and heart,” adding that her reign would reflect “Nigeria’s growing role in global sustainability efforts.”
Other members of the Miss Earth Nigeria court include Benita Chinelo Ifeanyichukwu (Miss Earth Air), Chuzuruoke Sufficient Arua (Miss Earth Water), Jolayemi Oladunni Dada (Miss Earth Fire), and Ngowari Treasure Tubonemi (Miss Earth Eco-Tourism).
Supported by notable figures like Barr. Azubuike Ihemeje of Portland Resorts and HRM King Michael Ateke Tom JP, the event crowned not just a queen but a movement — a reminder that Nigerian women continue to rise where beauty meets purpose.
