Lagos shuts down Cubana Chief Priest’s Donald’s Restaurant over illegal waste dumping

Lagos authorities have sealed off Donald’s Restaurant, owned by nightlife entrepreneur Cubana Chief Priest, for gross environmental violations after staff were caught dumping refuse by the roadside in Lekki Phase 1.

The incident occurred early Saturday, May 18, 2025, when the Lekki Estate Residents Association (LERA) alerted the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to a white Ford van with Abuja plates, GWA 136E, caught illegally offloading waste on Durosimi-Etti Street. The vehicle was traced to Donald’s Restaurant on Road 14.

Two staff were apprehended at the scene by LERA security and allegedly tried to bribe the security team with ₦100,000—a move firmly rejected. LAWMA’s Monitoring and Compliance Team sealed the premises for violating the Lagos State Environmental Management and Protection Law, 2017.

LAWMA reaffirmed its zero-tolerance for environmental abuse, warning all businesses and residents: “A clean and livable city is everyone’s responsibility.”
