KWAM 1 blacklisted from flying in Nigeria for six months

Fuji legend King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) has been placed on Nigeria’s no-flight list for six months by the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) over a security-related incident at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

NCAA’s Director of Consumer Protection, Michael Achimugu, confirmed the sanction, stressing that no Nigerian is above aviation rules. He noted that even President Bola Tinubu and Aviation Minister Festus Keyamo comply with routine checks, adding, “Would this have happened at Heathrow or any other foreign airport?”

The decision follows the suspension of two ValueJet pilots, Captain Oluranti Ogoyi and First Officer Ivan Oloba, who allegedly departed their bay without pre-departure clearance. KWAM 1, however, has denied any wrongdoing, calling the reports exaggerated.
