Kiekie commands attention in Josiphiah Michael’s sculptural masterpiece

2 Min Read

Nigerian comedian and fashion icon Kiekie has delivered a defining style moment, unveiling breathtaking portraits in an architectural gown by visionary designer Josiphiah Michael that perfectly captures her bold declaration: “A ONE TIME BREED! They didn’t make another like ME!”

The images, shot by photographer Ibor Edosa Victor against a dramatic dark backdrop, showcase a sculptural taupe masterpiece.

The gown features a dramatic hood framing her face, a structured corset bodice with daring side cut-outs, voluminous quilted sleeves, and a mermaid silhouette with a sweeping train—all rendered in thick, felted material that holds its shape like wearable art.

The Visionary Behind the Look

Josiphiah Michael, the Lagos-based creative director behind #josiphiahUpcycled, has built his reputation on transforming reclaimed materials into high-fashion “sculptures.” His philosophy of “sustainable luxury” breathes new life into discarded fabrics, with every detail serving an environmental purpose. Michael, who has styled notable figures like Jadrolita, views fabric as a canvas for artistic expression.

The complete creative team elevated the vision: Joy Ogugua of Tresses by Joy sculpted Kiekie’s sleek updo, makeup artist Ewatosin delivered a flawless complexion, and a statement silver choker and earrings added metallic contrast.

Kiekie, fresh from winning Instagram Influencer of the Year at the Pulse Nigeria Influence Awards and being recognised by Forbes Africa as a top creator, continues to prove that her influence extends far beyond comedy into high fashion territory.
