Beauty queen and women’s advocate Gladys Gimbiya Ade-Zaky has been officially designated to represent Nigeria at the Mrs BRICS 2026 international pageant, scheduled to take place from March 1 to 8 at the Kazan Expo Exhibition Center in Tatarstan, Russia.

Ade-Zaky, who hails from Kaduna State, is recognised for her advocacy in women’s empowerment and cultural diplomacy. Her platform emphasises the role of married women in leadership and strengthening ties between Nigeria and the BRICS nations.

The pageant, themed “beauty with a purpose,” focuses on cultural exchange, economic collaboration, and the Women’s Business Alliance initiatives within the bloc.

The week-long event will include a charity gala, business forum, and grand finale coinciding with International Women’s Day on March 8.

Kazan, often called Russia’s “Third Capital,” was chosen for its history as a bridge between Eastern and Western cultures.

Gimbiya’s participation reflects Nigeria’s deepening integration into the BRICS framework following its elevation to partner country status in early 2025.
