Joshua Aiyenuro, the Nigerian barber who set a Guinness World Record for the longest haircut marathon, has officially presented his certificate to Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, using the occasion to unveil an ambitious vocational skills initiative aimed at tackling unemployment and youth indiscipline.
“It is a dream come true for my team and me presenting my GWR certificate to our daddy, mentor, and leader,” Aiyenuro wrote following the meeting. “The support and encouragement you gave me during the attempt were a great tool in achieving this massive height, sir.”
Aiyenuro, who serves as the official barber for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, completed his record-breaking 150-hour marathon barbing session in June 2025 at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. The achievement earned him international recognition and established him as a symbol of Nigerian excellence and resilience.
During the meeting with Governor Aiyedatiwa, Aiyenuro discussed the way forward for his proposed Vocational Skills Resort, a project that includes establishing “1,000 barbing seats in each state” to reduce unemployment, eradicate hooliganism, and curb drug abuse among Nigerian youth.
“Thank you, Your Excellency, for your invaluable support toward achieving both the Guinness World Record and the vocational skills project ahead,” Aiyenuro added.
The visit follows recent engagements with the Nigeria Football Federation in February and Nigeria’s Minister of Youth Development in March, where he outlined the “Dream Project” aimed at transforming vocational training across the country.
The initiative reflects Aiyenuro’s broader mission to use his platform to inspire and equip the next generation of Nigerian creatives and entrepreneurs.
