The celebrated fashion personality will join Bola Obileye, founder of the luxury fashion hub House of Estree, for a special live audience recording of the Seriously Doughnuts podcast. The conversation, hosted by Bola and Abi, promises an intimate look at Fumi’s journey, anchored by her community’s favourite mantra: “What is Delayed is Not Denied.”

The event runs from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM at House of Estree, 350 Station Road, with the live podcast session kicking off at 3:00 PM. Entry is free, but spaces are limited and require advance registration.

Beyond the headline conversation, Motherland by House of Estree is a full-day celebration of African creativity, bringing together independent fashion designers, lifestyle vendors, and heritage art pieces under one roof. Attendees can shop exclusive runway-inspired collections, enjoy drinks and canapés from 4:00 PM, and connect with a community of diaspora tastemakers.

Desalu-Vold made history in 1991 as the first-ever winner of the West Africa Super Model competition, a title that solidified her status as the definitive Nigerian-Gambian supermodel. Born in Moscow, Russia, to a Nigerian father and a Gambian mother, her historic win launched a major global modelling career that took her to elite runways across Paris, Milan, London, and New York.

Decades later, she has evolved into a celebrated digital creator, empowering women over 40 and 50 to dress with presence and confidence through her ageless style tutorials and viral fashion hacks.

Founder Obileye describes the fair as a cultural movement channelling the grand spirit of Nigeria’s Ojude Oba festival into the heart of England. With Desalu-Vold’s star power anchoring the day, the event is shaping up to be a must-attend date on London’s summer lifestyle calendar.

Registration is open now via Eventbrite.
