French and Arsenal legend Thierry Henry surprised Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen with a warm Pidgin greeting during a post-match interview following Galatasaray’s Champions League triumph.
After the Turkish side eliminated Juventus to reach the Round of 16, Henry opened the CBS Sports interview by asking, “Victor, this is Thierry, first and foremost, how body?” – a common Nigerian Pidgin phrase meaning “How are you?” A smiling Osimhen replied, “Body dey fine,” affirming he was doing well.

Henry, who was famously crowned “Igwe” (King) by fans during a Lagos visit, used the greeting to connect with the striker after his record-breaking performance.
Osimhen scored his seventh Champions League goal of the season against Juventus, becoming Galatasaray’s highest-scoring foreigner in the competition.
The moment quickly went viral, showcasing the growing global recognition of Nigerian culture.
Osimhen has now scored nine goals in 16 league appearances this season, adding four goals and two assists during the 2025 AFCON.
