Nigerian music sensation FOLA has been named the Best Rising Act at the 2026 NXT Honors: Global Digital Celebration.
The award, presented on February 6, caps a historic 2025 for the artist, recognising his explosive impact and artistic momentum over the past year.
FOLA’s victory follows a campaign of unprecedented streaming success. He has amassed over 598 million career streams on Spotify, driven by his chart-dominating debut album, Catharsis.
The album spent a remarkable 12 weeks at No. 1 in Nigeria, becoming the longest-running chart-topper of 2025. Key singles like “Lost” (featuring Kizz Daniel) and “You” each garnered tens of millions of streams, demonstrating widespread appeal.
This award adds to a growing list of accolades, including being named No. 1 Artist of 2025 by Turntable Charts and winning Young Person of the Year at The Future Awards Africa.
FOLA emerged victorious from a competitive field of Africa’s fastest-rising talents, cementing his status as the continent’s premier breakout star and positioning him for major international opportunities in 2026.
