Fegho Umunubo, Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria (Office of the Vice President) on Digital and Creative Economy, has announced a landmark cultural exchange between #CrossRiver State and China’s Hunan Province.
In a statement shared on his official platform, Umunubo revealed that he had a “productive meeting” with Yang Jiangxing, Cultural Counselor at the Chinese Embassy, and officials from NEXHUB (Nigeria Exporters Hub), to finalize plans for a cultural showcase set to spotlight #Nigeria’s famed Calabar Festival during the China-Africa Economic & Trade Expo in Changsha, China, from June 12th, 2025.
“This is more than just a celebration of heritage,” Umunubo noted. “It’s a powerful statement of cooperation between the Government of Cross River State and Hunan Province.”
He also confirmed his participation in the official Nigerian delegation traveling alongside the Cross River State team and NEXHUB representatives. The initiative is expected to deepen cultural diplomacy and create new pathways for economic collaboration between Nigeria and China.
As Nigeria continues to position its creative and cultural industries on the global stage, this move marks another strategic stride in strengthening international cultural relations.
