She’s been the subject of dating speculation not once, but twice in the past year. Now, Ugandan-British model Eva Apio is making it crystal clear: she’s focused on her career, not her love life—and she’s doing it in style.

The H! Fashion cover star made a stunning appearance at a recent party, serving up an effortlessly chic look that had videographers scrambling for a shot. Clad in a crisp, Apio moved through the venue with the kind of quiet confidence that has made her a favourite of luxury brands like Burberry and Off-White.

In one captured moment, she struck a cool, self-assured pose, hands tucked casually into her pockets, her long braids framing a face that looked directly at the camera with relaxed ease. A closer shot showed her gazing over her shoulder, one hand gently touching her hair—equal parts elegance and playful energy.

On the dance floor, she let loose, grooving with friends and proving she knows how to have as much fun as she knows how to work a lens. The party appearance comes just months after Apio was forced to refute rumours that she was romantically involved with Nigerian footballer Calvin Bassey.

The speculation began after the two were spotted together in the stands at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, particularly during Nigeria’s bronze medal match against Egypt. But Apio, never one to let gossip go unchecked, took to X (formerly Twitter) with a swift and definitive response.

“We have been close friends since we were 16,” she wrote. “Newham kids who made it out.” The blunt clarification—complete with a “maintain down” for the blogger who sparked the chatter—shut down the narrative as quickly as it began.

It wasn’t the first time Apio had to swat away romance rumours. In May 2025, she publicly denied dating Nigerian singer Asake after they were seen together at public events. “I was never his girlfriend,” she stated plainly at the time, leaving no room for interpretation.

For Apio, who has built a career on discipline, style, and an unshakeable sense of self, the repeated speculation seems to come with the territory of moving between the worlds of fashion, football, and Afrobeats. But she’s made it clear she has no interest in being anyone’s rumoured love interest.

Her focus, instead, remains on her work. The Ugandan-born model, who grew up in London’s Newham district, is currently riding a wave of career momentum. She graced the cover of H! Fashion’s February–March 2026 issue, has walked for Off-White, and continues to collaborate with luxury houses like Burberry. Off the runway, she channels her success into philanthropy through the Eva Apio Foundation, which supports youth in Uganda and across Africa.

Back at the party, Apio seemed entirely at ease—dancing, laughing, and soaking in the moment. If the dating rumours bother her, she didn’t show it. Instead, she let her presence do the talking: confident, radiant, and very much in control of her own narrative.
