Nigerian selector Princess Ntuk Williams, popularly known as DJ Pretty Play, has officially completed a 288-hour marathon DJ set, shattering the previous Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Club DJ-ing.
Her historic run concluded on March 22 at Bay Lounge in Lekki, Lagos, after 12 consecutive days behind the decks. The previous record of 244 hours, 2 minutes, and 16 seconds was set by Italy’s Fabrizio Morero in May 2024.
DJ Pretty Play completes 288-hour marathon in attempt to break Guinness World Record
DJ Pretty Play adhered to strict GWR guidelines, including a five-minute rest per hour of performance and a rule forbidding song repeats within a four-hour window. This violation forced her to restart an earlier attempt after 72 hours.
Celebrating her achievement on Instagram, she wrote: “Cheers to 288 hours of greatness. This moment is forever legendary.”
If officially ratified, she will become the first Nigerian female DJ to hold the title. The verification process, which reviews continuous footage and witness logs, is now underway.
Her feat adds to Nigeria’s growing list of record-breaking achievements in recent years.
