The President of the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria (DGN), Uche Agbo, arrived in Uyo on Thursday with a high-profile delegation of the Guild to participate in the 2025 edition of Ibom Entertainment Week and to mark the 25th anniversary of the Guild.

The delegation included DGN Vice President Shan George, along with notable members Tony Akposheri, Madu Chukwendu, and Sam Azubuike. Their presence underlined the Guild’s commitment to fostering collaboration with the Akwa Ibom entertainment sector and celebrating the growth of Nigerian cinema.

On arrival at the Victor Attah International Airport, the team received a warm welcome from Mr. David Sergeant (Utang Akwa Ibom), Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Entertainment. Sergeant highlighted the importance of the Guild’s participation in Ibom Entertainment Week, describing it as a strong endorsement of Akwa Ibom’s cultural and creative initiatives.
The visit coincides with the 25th anniversary celebrations of the Directors’ Guild of Nigeria, making this year’s Ibom Entertainment Week particularly historic. With DGN’s leadership joining the festivities, the event is expected to further spotlight Akwa Ibom as a growing hub for entertainment, culture, and film in Nigeria.
