Davido grabs 2nd top-five debut with Oriadé’s 5.75 million first-day streams on Spotify Nigeria

Davido just stormed the Spotify Nigeria charts with his sixth studio album Oriadé—but the numbers tell a story of fierce competition. The project pulled in 5.75 million streams in its first full day, landing at number five on the all-time debut rankings.

That puts him behind Wizkid‘s Morayo (12.12 million), Asake‘s M$NEY (10.03 million), his own 5ive (9.29 million), and Asake’s Lungu Boy (5.88 million). Yes, Davido is competing with himself now—5ive still sits comfortably at number three.

The 10-million mark remains exclusive territory. Only Wizkid and Asake have crossed that threshold. Davido hasn’t touched it yet, but holding two spots in the top five is nothing to dismiss.

Asake also holds two spots, making it a three-way dominance between Nigeria’s biggest streaming heavyweights. The numbers don’t lie: Afrobeats is eating globally, and Spotify Nigeria is the battleground.

But here’s the real question: can Oriadé climb higher in the coming weeks? Debut numbers matter, but longevity separates legends from one-hit wonders. Davido has the catalogue, the fanbase, and the marketing machine.

He’s already posted celebratory messages, thanking his fans for showing up. But with Wizkid and Asake ahead, the “OBO” camp has work to do. The race for streaming supremacy is far from over.
