Nigerian Afrobeats icon Davido has officially set a July 31, 2026, release date for his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ.
The announcement, made exclusively to Billboard with a short teaser video clip across social media, frames the 13-track project as a deeply personal statement timed to celebrate 15 years in the music industry.
The album’s title fuses two Yoruba words — ori (head or destiny) and adé (crown). It signals a moment of reflection for Davido. “This album is about purpose and gratitude,” he told the publication. “It’s where I’ve been and where I’m headed.”
ORIADÉ arrives just over a year after his April 2025 album 5ive and follows the June 26 release of its lead single, “I Know Who I Be.” That track has already generated strong reactions online, and its Afrobeats-meets-amapiano production offers a glimpse of the album’s sound.
The project lands in a summer already packed with major Afrobeats releases, but industry watchers note that the symbolic weight of the anniversary — and the introspective tone Davido is promising — could set this body of work apart from his previous chart-focused rollouts.
He is drawing a line under a decade and a half of hits, controversies, and evolution, and inviting fans to see the man beneath the crown.
The countdown to July 31 has officially begun.
