Chelsea Nwangwu has been confirmed as Nigeria’s delegate to the Miss Wellness World 2026 pageant, with the grand final scheduled for 27 September 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The organisation announced her appointment in a video presentation, introducing her as the country’s national wellness ambassador. The final will be held at Calypso, Asiatique The Riverfront.
Nwangwu said her platform will focus on mental and physical wellbeing rather than appearance alone.
“For me, wellness isn’t just about how we look; it’s also about how we feel, both physically and mentally,” she said. “If I were selected as Miss Wellness World, I would like to encourage young people to see wellness as something that can be part of their everyday lives.”
She said her own experience growing up with social media shaped that message. “I understand how easy it is to compare ourselves with others, and feel pressure to be a certain way,” she added.
Nwangwu follows Sarah Ademide Awopejo, who represented Nigeria at the inaugural edition in 2025 and won the Miss Luminous Complexion special award.

The organisation described the new campaign in a statement. “Redefining wellness beyond the mirror—mind, body, and everyday balance. Introducing Chelsea Nwangwu, representing Nigeria at Miss Wellness World. She is on a mission to break free from social media pressures and encourage youth to make wellness a natural part of their daily lives.”
