Billboard names Nigeria’s Qing Madi among 21 Under 21 Most Influential Young Artists of 2025

Qing Madi

Nigerian Afrobeats sensation Qing Madi has been named one of Billboard’s 21 Under 21 — a coveted list recognizing the most innovative and influential young artists shaping the future of global music. At just 18 years old, Madi is already leaving powerful imprints across continents and charts, signaling a meteoric rise for the Gen Z star.

Signed to Jton Music/Columbia Records and managed by Jton Music with publishing under BuVision, Qing Madi’s artistry has bloomed rapidly over the past year. Her breakout single “Feeling Alright” soared to No. 15 on the Billboard U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart, becoming her highest-charting hit yet. In January 2025, she dropped her debut album I Am the Blueprint—a bold, soulful introduction to her identity and sound.

From Uganda to Sierra Leone, Madi’s performances have earned her fans across Africa, all while staying rooted in her message of self-belief and perseverance. “Seeing my hard work pay off and knowing that my music resonates with people means everything to me,” she told Billboard. “Staying true to who I am and pushing through the doubts has been key.”

In April, the young star was honored with Songwriter of the Year at The Headies, Nigeria’s most prestigious music award show—a fitting recognition of her lyrical depth and cultural impact.

QingMadi is a blueprint of new-age Nigerian excellence—global, grounded, and gloriously gifted.
