The Beauty of Africa International Pageant (BAIP) has moved its 2026 international finals from Nigeria to Yaoundé, Cameroon.

The organisers announced the decision in an official statement, citing a schedule clash with Nigeria’s upcoming general elections in December.

“The Beauty of Africa International Pageant wishes to announce that the host country for this year’s edition has been changed to Yaoundé, Cameroon. This decision was made due to the upcoming Nigerian general elections, which coincide with our scheduled Grand Finale in December,” the statement read.

The organisation said the relocation is intended to prevent logistical disruptions and ensure the safety of delegates, partners and fans.

“We sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause to our contestants, partners, and fans. Further details regarding venues, dates, and logistics will be communicated soon,” it added.

The pageant has not yet released the new date or venue for the grand finale in Yaoundé. Additional details on itinerary and logistics are expected shortly.

The shift makes Cameroon the latest African country to host a major continental pageant event this year.
