Ayra Starr‘s third studio album, Starrgirl, has debuted at number six on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut chart in the United States, marking one of the strongest American openings by a Nigerian female artist this year.

The 16-track project, released on 14 August 2026 through Mavin Records and Republic Records, entered the U.S. chart behind Phoebe Bridgers, Trippie Redd, Jungle, Nipsey Hussle with Bino Rideaux, and Becky G. It landed ahead of releases by Ashley Cooke, benny blanco and Kendo Kaponi.

The U.S. debut follows the album’s number two entry on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global chart. Starrgirl has already pulled 1.82 million first-day streams in Nigeria and topped Apple Music and iTunes charts in the country. It also recorded the most simultaneous country-level number-one entries by a female African artist on Apple Music this year, reaching the top spot in 10 countries.

The album features Wizkid, Rema, ZAYN, Leon Thomas, Danny Ocean, kwn and Theodora. Its strongest global performer, “Heaven Baby” with ZAYN, has driven much of the U.S. streaming activity, according to early platform data.

First-week U.S. streaming totals are expected to be confirmed by the end of the week. Mavin Records has not yet released cumulative figures.
