Nigeria’s flag flew high in London as three young Nigerian prodigies — Nafisa Abdullahi, Rukayya Mohammed Fema, and Khadija Kashim Kalli — emerged as world champions at the 2025 TeenEagle Global Finals, a prestigious international competition that celebrates brilliance in English language communication skills, debate, and creative talent.
17-year-old Nafisa clinched the title of Overall Best in English Language Skills, showcasing her mastery of grammar, vocabulary, and eloquence. 15-year-old Rukayya dazzled the judges with her sharp arguments and stage presence to take the crown as Overall Best in Debate. Khadija, meanwhile, left the audience spellbound with her creativity and flair, earning the Outstanding Talent Gold Medal.
Their stellar performance caught the attention of Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President of Nigeria and founder of the Atiku Abubakar Foundation (AAF). In a congratulatory letter dated August 5, 2025, the Foundation praised the trio’s “remarkable success” as a testament to the boundless potential of all Nigerian children, regardless of background.
To mark their achievement, Atiku awarded each of them a fully-funded scholarship covering the remainder of their secondary education and university studies at any institution of their choice. The Foundation reaffirmed its dedication to supporting quality education, especially for girls and other vulnerable groups, and hailed the teens as role models for millions of Nigerian youth.
The TeenEagle Global Finals, held annually in the United Kingdom, brings together top young minds from across the globe to compete in language mastery, persuasive speaking, and talent showcases. Nigeria’s triple victory this year reinforces the nation’s growing reputation as a powerhouse of academic excellence and intellectual talent.
As they return home, Nafisa, Rukayya, and Khadija carry not only their medals but also the hopes of a nation — proof that with opportunity, Nigerian youths can conquer the world stage.
