Heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has publicly extended his heartfelt appreciation to a wide range of individuals, from local first responders to Nigeria’s highest political leaders, for their overwhelming support following an accident in Ogun State this past December.
In a message shared from the heart, Joshua began, “My brother’s keeper for life,” before expressing immense gratitude to everyone who assisted his companions, Latz and Sina, at the scene of the incident. He gave special thanks to the local community, who prayed for them and helped get them to the hospital.
Joshua specifically acknowledged the medical team at Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi, including Dr Ogunyankin, Dr Tosin Majekodunmi, and Dr Ninalowo, for their dedicated care.
He also highlighted the crucial logistical support provided by business magnates Femi Otedola and Aliko Dangote, stating, “Without you guys, the transition back to the UK wouldn’t have been as smooth. You truly went above and beyond.”
Joshua extended his thanks to numerous government officials, including the Governors of Ogun and Lagos States, Prince Dapo Abiodun and Babajide Sanwo-Olu, for their personal involvement and daily follow-ups. He also expressed gratitude to President Bola Tinubu for commissioning his team to assist. The British Deputy High Commissioner, Simon Field, and Nigerian Police leadership were also acknowledged for their roles.
“Your efforts, kindness, and support will never be forgotten,” Joshua concluded. “God bless.”
