The governor joined Islamic clerics and faithful at the prayer grounds during the holy month, which began on February 18, dancing and warmly engaging with attendees in his characteristic high-energy style.

Videos of his participation quickly circulated online, drawing smiles and praise from fans who celebrated his approachable demeanour across Osun’s diverse communities.

In a statement following the event, Adeleke expressed deep gratitude for the clerics’ prayers and commendations of his governance.

“Today, I was deeply humbled by the prayers and commendations from our respected Islamic clerics at the Annual Ramadan lectures at NASFAT prayer grounds in Ede and Osogbo,” he said. “Their acknowledgement of our administration’s commitment to good governance and justice strengthens my resolve to continue serving with sincerity and fear of Allah.”

The governor reaffirmed his vow to lead with fairness, transparency, and compassion, describing leadership as a “sacred trust.” In contrast, the overwhelming online response celebrated his cross-cultural engagement; a minority of voices questioned whether the display was performative.

Nonetheless, Adeleke’s presence underscored his administration’s outreach during the sacred season.
