The American rapper Doechii went viral on Instagram Live this week after stumbling onto Solana‘s “Okunkun” song and vibing out so hard she had to ask her chat who made it.
“That song is so fire!” she declared, singing along to the beat. She admitted she didn’t know the artist’s name at first, telling viewers she’d discovered the track through a radio show and immediately fell in love. “So fucking good.”
The song, produced alongside Killertunes, blends Yoruba storytelling with Afropop, electronic textures, and synth-pop sonics. “Okunkun” means “darkness” in Yoruba.
Doechii joins a growing list of international heavyweights backing Solana’s movement. SZA, Tyla, Little Simz, and Diplo have all previously co-signed her.
The timing couldn’t be better. Solana’s debut EP, Girl From The West, drops November 13, 2026. Fans of both artists are already flooding social media asking for a remix.
