Obudu Mountain Resort has a message for Mr Eazi: you could have saved the airfare.
The Cross River State resort took to social media to poke fun at the singer after he married Temi Otedola in Iceland, posting a photo from the couple’s wedding with a caption that was equal parts advertisement and playful shade.
“YOU DON’T NEED TO FLY TO ICELAND FOR THIS PHOTO!” the resort wrote. “Saw that iconic Mr Eazi wedding photo in Iceland and thought, ‘Wait… Obudu can do this too!'”
The post featured the couple walking hand-in-hand across a grassy field with a mist-covered mountain behind them. Mr Eazi wore a white double-breasted tailcoat with a gold brooch on his lapel, while Temi wore a long white lace gown with a high neckline and a soft train.
Obudu argued that its own scenery could match the Icelandic backdrop, pointing to its mountain views and clouds that float around visitors.
“From dramatic mountain views to clouds floating around you, Obudu Mountain Resort gives you the perfect backdrop to recreate that dreamy wedding moment right here in Nigeria,” the post read. “Whether it’s your wedding, pre-wedding shoot, anniversary, or you simply want to recreate the picture… bring your outfit, bring your person, and let Obudu handle the scenery.”
It closed with a challenge: “Iceland is beautiful. But have you tried taking the picture in the clouds at Obudu?”

The post drew laughter and debate online. Some praised the resort for clever marketing. Others pointed out an awkward detail: Obudu is temporarily closed.
Since 1 September 2026, the resort has been shut for massive rehabilitation under a 25-year concession agreement between the Cross River State Government and Living Curation Real Estate Limited. The upgrade covers the main resort, the waterpark, Utanga Safari Lodge and the Bebi Airstrip.
Surrounding villages still offer private guesthouses, and select natural attractions like the Grotto and waterfalls remain accessible. But the main resort facilities where that dreamy cloud photo would happen are not currently open.
The wedding took place in Iceland. The photo went viral. And Obudu, closed or not, made sure Nigerians remembered its mountains.
