VIETNAM (NAIJA TV) — Miss World Nigeria 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, has called on Nigerians to increase voting support as she begins her campaign at the 73rd Miss World Festival in Vietnam.

Karibi-George appealed in a video posted to her social media platforms. Voting is open on the 1Zone app and through the competition’s website.

“Hello Nigeria, hello world. It’s me, Soye, your very own Miss World Nigeria 2026. The competition is getting a lot more intense, and we need to triple our efforts,” she said.

She urged Nigerians to download the app, register and vote. “You can vote as many times as possible. I’m calling on every single Nigerian, the over 200 million people that I’m representing right now on the world stage. I need your votes. I need your support,” she added.

The pageant marks 25 years since Agbani Darego became the first Black and first Nigerian to win Miss World in 2001. Karibi-George said she believes Nigeria can win again.

“It’s been 25 years since we won the Miss World Crown, and by the special grace of God, I believe strongly in my heart that we can bring this back home,” she said.

The 26-year-old communications professional from Port Harcourt represented Bayelsa State during the national pageant. She is campaigning under the message “Let’s Do It Again.”

The Miss World Festival is scheduled to run through September. Voting remains open, and further campaign activities are expected as the competition progresses.
