Ayra Starr’s third studio album, Starrgirl, recorded 10.06 million streams on Spotify Nigeria in its first week, making it one of the biggest opening weeks ever posted by a female African artist on the platform.
The 16-track project was released on 14 August 2026 through Mavin Records and Republic Records. It pulled 1.82 million streams on opening day, breaking the record for the largest first-day album streams by a female artist in Nigeria.
The previous record was held by her second album, The Year I Turned 21, which opened at 1.27 million streams.
The album averaged more than 1.4 million daily streams in Nigeria across its first week. High-profile collaborations carried significant domestic interest, including “Who’s Dat Girl” featuring Rema and “Gimme Dat” featuring Wizkid.
Globally, Starrgirl recorded 3.94 million first-day streams and debuted at number two on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global chart. It entered the United States album chart at number six.
The album has spent its first week at number one on Apple Music Nigeria. It also features ZAYN, Leon Thomas, Danny Ocean, kwn and Theodora.
Official first-week global and country-level streaming totals are still being finalised. Mavin Records has not yet issued a cumulative report.
