Nigerian street-hop artist Portable has confirmed he will honour an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in September 2026 regarding allegations of naira abuse at his son’s naming ceremony.

In a series of social media videos, Portable said his lawyer advised him to delay the visit until September due to personal obligations and current national security anxieties. He insisted he is not evading authorities but is simply at home protecting his family.

The “Zazu Zeh” singer initially questioned why he was being singled out, arguing that many other celebrities routinely spray money at events without facing backlash. He has instructed his legal team to interface with the EFCC in his place for now.

The EFCC has been aggressively enforcing laws against naira mutilation and spraying, which is illegal under the Central Bank of Nigeria Act.

Portable’s invitation follows similar high‑profile prosecutions of public figures.
