Miss Thailand claimed the crown, while Miss Philippines, Thea Abanico, secured the 1st runner-up position. Echereozo’s top-three finish marks a historic moment for Nigeria at the competition.

Beyond her overall placement, Echereozo dominated the swimwear category, winning “MMII Best Body 2026” — a first for Nigeria. The twin achievements provide a clear roadmap for her international reign, amplifying her advocacy platforms on human rights and gender equality.

A Public Administration graduate and vocal activist, Echereozo’s platform centres on combating Female Genital Mutilation, empowering women and girls through education, and promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage globally through her “Diversity Video Project.” Her message aligns with the pageant’s theme, “Different Cultures, One World.”

With the competition concluded on April 26, 2026, Echereozo will now lead official charity outreach initiatives organised by the Miss Independent International organisation, serve as a global ambassador of compassion partnering with NGOs, and return home to a celebratory reception for her groundbreaking finish.
