The City Boy Movement, a pro-Tinubu support group, has officially appointed Miss Iniabasi Godswill Akpabio as its Akwa Ibom State Director, in a strategic move to consolidate grassroots support in the South-South region.
Iniabasi, the daughter of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, will take the helm of the organisation at a time of heightened political mobilisation across the country.
The announcement, made via the movement’s official social media channels, expressed confidence in her ability to drive the group’s mission, stating the Akwa Ibom chapter is poised for “unprecedented impact” under her guidance.
As State Director, Iniabasi will coordinate day-to-day operations, strengthen grassroots presence across all local government areas, and serve as a bridge between the youth demographic and the movement’s political objectives.
Political analysts suggest the appointment is a strategic play to leverage the Akpabio family’s deep-rooted influence in the state to bolster support for the current administration. While supporters have hailed the move as a win for female and youth inclusion in leadership, it has also sparked debate about the growing role of political families in grassroots organising.
The appointment signals the movement’s intent to maintain a “permanent campaign” footing, focusing on community-level engagement ahead of future electoral cycles.
