In a statement, Nuhu revealed that following the successful restoration of Shaihu Umar, a classic based on a Hausa novel about a boy taken into slavery who later reunites with his family, the collaboration now turns to Kulba Na Barna, a 1992 northern Nigerian classic.

“Kulba Na Barna tells a strong moral story about how our choices and actions affect our lives and our community,” Nuhu said. “Both films are part of Nigeria’s cultural history, and digitising them means young Nigerians can still watch, learn and be proud of our heritage.”

The initiative strengthens the National Film, Video, and Sound Archive while deepening cultural exchange. Nuhu expressed appreciation to the Nigerian Embassy in Germany for its support.

“Together, we are preserving Nigeria’s history and sharing our stories with the world,” he added.
