In the latest verdict of his continental culinary tour, global streamer IShowSpeed has declared Nigerian Jollof rice superior to Liberia’s version, cementing Nigeria’s lead in the informal “Jollof Wars.”
Sampling the local dish live upon arriving in Monrovia, the 21-year-old told his 50 million subscribers, “I’m not gonna lie, Liberia… It’s good, but Nigeria is still better.” He affirmed Nigeria’s Jollof remains “the best plate I’ve had in Africa.”
This marks Nigeria’s third major win on his “Speed Does Africa” tour, following his praise in Lagos and his noted preference for it over Senegal’s traditional thieboudienne.
Despite the friendly culinary critique, Speed’s arrival drew thousands of Liberian fans, with his visit shining a global spotlight on Monrovia’s culture.
