Super Falcons defender Ashleigh Plumptre has announced the launch of her passion project, “Put a Foot in Africa Football Camps and Workshop,” set for January 2-3, 2026, in Lagos.

The initiative aims to empower 100 young Nigerian athletes aged 9-16 each day with elite training and vital safety education.

The former England youth international, who switched allegiance to represent Nigeria—her grandfather’s homeland—in 2023, is personally driving this grassroots effort. The camp will feature skill sessions led by coaches from her Saudi club, Al-Ittihad, focusing on technical development and personal growth.

Beyond the pitch, the project partners with Mission 89, an organisation fighting sports trafficking, to educate participants on safeguarding their futures in football. “This is about more than just football,” Plumptre emphasised, highlighting the program’s holistic approach to athlete welfare.
